what's an over-worked entrepreneur to do?

8/12/2020

Being a business owner can be tough at the best of times … let alone the $h!t show that has been 2020!
No matter what industry you are in, there’s always more work than time to do it … am I right?

So, what is an overworked entrepreneur to do?

There are a bunch of answers – but more and more business owners are turning to a simple one … outsourcing! You should outsource because you can make more money by outsourcing than by not outsourcing. Use it as a ‘tool’ to drive sales and revenue!

How do you work out what to outsource?
  • Take a long hard look at how you are currently spending your time … what tasks are bogging you down from doing what you are good at and creates a revenue stream?
  • What tasks are you not very good at? To outsource these is more cost-efficient than hiring employees, and leaves you time to work on what is most important. Focusing on the core competencies of your business and delegating the rest is really what makes for a successful company.
How do you find a kick ar$e freelancer to outsource to?
  • Have a budget in mind. Understand that while outsourcing is cheaper than employing, you shouldn’t be looking for the cheapest option.
  • Explain your project/task fully. Explain the precise deliverables, what type of project is it (a one-off, or ongoing etc).
  • Research the freelancers who respond to your ad or request.  Once you have found your perfect freelancer, especially if they are working remotely (ie not physically in your office) – COMMUNICATE … COMMUNICATE … COMMUNICATE! Regular communication is VITAL to keeping your freelancer aligned with the goals of your project.
There are so many tools available now to assist with remote discussions, sharing documents and monitoring progress. Your freelancer will already no doubt be working with a number of these and can share their preferences with you.

If you are an entrepreneur looking to get more done in less time, outsourcing is a solution you should definitely consider.

What's so significant about the number 7?
  • 7 days of the week
  • 7 seas
  • 7 continents
  • 7 colours in the rainbow
  • 7 notes in a scale
  • 7 wonders of the world
And 7 years that I've Got Time for That has been in existence!

Now, how should I celebrate a milestone like this?

Well, if it were a wedding anniversary – I would be giving and receiving a ‘woolen’ gift. (yawn)

No thanks - I'd rather treat myself to a REBRAND!!

Ladies and Gents – let me introduce you to the new I’ve Got Time for That logo and colours! I hope you like them!

IGTFT has had an incredible life to date. I’ve learnt so much on the way (never stop learning!) and have continued to meet and work with incredible, inspirational, and illustrious clients – chefs, photographers, media legends, rock stars, authors, leaders … all with the same qualities and ethics that I believe in … because I have the luxury to choose who I work with. #nodickheadpolicy

I’ve hunted down 10kgs of fresh crab meat in Hawaii for a client who was cooking for a legend Rockstar at the last minute, obtained an emergency passport for another client who was checking in for an international flight and realized their current one had expired (luckily they were checking in a few hours earlier than necessary), and packed and moved house for a favourite clients’ sister who had just been diagnosed with breast cancer.

I couldn’t love my job or be more proud of the ‘little business’ I created and am excited to take it to the next level … more clients, and legendary EA’s (Exceptional Accomplices) working for me providing my signature, unapologetic obsession with loyalty, trust and discretion.

So, to all my clients – past, present and future 😉 – my amazing partner (and doggies!) family, friends, mentors and Google – thank you so much for your support, advice and referrals.

Now, I am off to buy myself some office chair woolen armrests … because I’ve Got Time for That!
